It’s a phrase made famous by rapper BeenZino after someone asked him on twitter about how to get a boyfriend/girlfriend, and he replied that they should bravely send a text to the person asking “Do you like dried persimmons?”

Explaining that:

1. If the person replies say he/she doesn’t like dried persimmons, you could then ask them out for something else that’s delicious.
2. Or if he/she do like dried persimmons, you could then ask them out to eat persimmons together.
